Folds to Infinity - Volumetrics (2007-2010)
Volumetrics
Volumetrics is phase 2 of the Folds to Infinity project. It works with large, square pieces of black fabric, each piece embedded with zippers, snaps, magnets, buttons, button-holes, toggles and elastic string. 20 pieces in the 100+ collection are also embedded with conductive fabric which is machine-embroidered into the fabric. The conductive fabric is connected to sensors located in pockets sewn into the fabric. Like phase 1 of the Folds to Infinity collection, Volumetrics is part of the Slow Clothes project, lending itself to emergent garments and architectures.
June 15-19 2010 Volumetrics. The Stockholm School of Economics - opening performance for the Society for Literature, Science and the Arts, Riga, Latvia.
October 3 2009 Volumetrics. Dancehouse, Melbourne, Australia.
September 17 2009 Volumetrics Critical Path, Sydney, Australia.
**note: Slow Clothes is a site-conditioned work. The mobile architecture and the performance-concept is altered for each exhibition/performance.
